Vintage Antique Miniature Bread Box and Nesting Kitchen Canisters – circa 1940s
Condition: Used – Distressed
Description: This 5 piece litho miniature kitchen set was manufactured in the 1940s for child’s play or for traveling salesmen as an example of the full size products they were selling
The Bread Box’s measurements are 4” long, 2½” wide and 2” tall
The nesting canisters begin with the Flower canister that has a 2” diameter and is 2” in height down to the Tea canister that has a 1” diameter and is 1¼” in height
The tin litho set is cream in color with gold lettering
The set is deemed distressed as the items are worn, and there are small tears in the top of the bread box on each side of the hinge
The text on each canister becomes progressively harder to read as they become smaller, and the smaller of the two canisters are missing their lids
Nonetheless, the set has distinct character and would make an interesting display piece representing 1940s America
