    Description

WWII Japanese Steel Bayonet & Scabbard, Nice Marine Vet Bring-back From the Pacific Fighting
    DESCRIPTION:
Scarce original WWII Japanese steel bayonet and scabbard, in good overall condition. Complete except the locking button is missing.Scans show it all. Blade is reasonably bright and clean for a combat used blade. Appears that the blade was filed down as shown, probably by the veteran as the first step in making a knife.
Wooden grips are in excellent condition. I am selling this just as I got it from the WWII Marine vet who served during the Pacific War fighting. Will make a great decorator for any WWII collection.
Scabbard is in very good, clean condition, with NO DINGS OR DENTS.
A great example of something that went through the war and conceivably was being worn and used by its owner when he met his maker. In good condition overall for a battlefield found, combat used item.
Bayonet is standard 20" long overall, blade is 15 1/2" long.
Bayonets were a popular veteran battlefield pickup souvenir item during the island fighting in the Pacific Theatre and they are excellent collectibles today.
